Every writer has some weaknesses. There is always room left for improvement. My weakness as a write is that I try too hard to write in third person view so that my writing is more formal and when I need to write informal, it is very difficult for me. I have always learned to never say “I,” “me,” or “my” in essays. I was taught to just come out and say it straight to the point as if it were a fact. This format does sound like you know your stuff but it is not very personal. Every essay is written for a different audience, a specific audience, I have come to realize. And sometimes you have to change your habits according to your environment or in my case for the professor. This semester I could improve in practicing more informal writing. This is something I should try to work on, specifically during this semester, because the essays in this class are mostly personal thoughts and opinions. Some of the essays need to persuade a person to think a certain way or to at least see and understand where you are coming from but not necessarily agree with your views or opinions. I look forward to attempting this new writing style because it is something I have been struggling with for a while and I would like to finally overcome it.
